Preparations begin for Honor Flight

VILLA RIDGE, MO (KFVS) -

Preparations started for Monday in Villa Ridge, Mo. for September's honor flight.

Honor Flight takes groups of veterans to Washington D.C. to see memorials and other honors.

Monday, experts trained guardians who will go along with the veterans.

Without Honor Flight, seeing these honors might be impossible.

"Some of them are struggling just to pay their medication bills and grocery bills so for them to get on a plane, spend a day, in Washington D.C. it's not in the horizon for them," said Jim Tayon, president of the Franklin County Honor Flight.

About 30 veterans plan to make the trip in September, and we plan to send a crew to capture all the action.
