Several fire departments battle 2 brush fires in Scott County

MORLEY, MO (KFVS) -

Several fire departments battled two brush fires four miles apart in Scott County Monday afternoon.

Firefighters say a fire sparked by someone burning trash broke out behind 22292 Hwy. 61 south of Morley. About four acres of brush burned.

Another field fire broke out about four miles away off of Hwy. U east of Haywood City. This fire covered about two acres.

Firefighters from Miner, Oran, Scott County Rural, and NBC responded to the fires.

Both fires are now under control.
