Pedestrian struck during vehicle crash in Ste. Genevieve County, MO

STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle during a crash Sunday morning in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on Northbound US 61, north of Mimosa Road.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a Chevy Blazer driven southbound by Timothy W. Barbee, 18, of Bloomsdale went off the right side of US 61. Barbee then overcorrected and the Blazer came back on the road.

Troopers say Barbee overcorrected again and the Blazer overturned hitting Derek J. Drury, 39, of Bloomsdale. The vehicle landed on its wheels, went across the highway and overturned again off the left side of the road.

Drury and Barbee both received moderate injuries. A passenger in the Blazer, Patrick A. Lipp, 18, of Ste. Genevieve, also received moderate injuries.

All were taken by EMS to Ste. Genevieve County Hospital for treatment.

Troopers say the driver and passenger were not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
