4 arrests made in connection to shooting in Metropolis

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) -

Metropolis police say four suspects were arrested Friday in connection to a shooting that left two people with non-life threatening injuries.

Troy Simelton, 31, of Metropolis was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated battery with a firearm and mob action.

Jeremy Simelton, 28, of Metropolis was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, mob action and obstructing justice.

Katrina Hill, 32, of Cairo was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, mob action and obstructing justice. 

Brandy Williamson, 28, of Metropolis was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, mob action and obstructing justice.

Police say more arrests and charges are anticipated as the investigation is still ongoing and as the case is reviewed by the Massac County State's Attorney, Patrick Windhorst. 

Metropolis police were called to the 1200 block of Ferry Street around 12:07 a.m. Friday.

Officers found a male and female who had been struck by shotgun pellets.

Police say the victims are Josh Carper, 34, and Angela Fike, 21, of rural Metropolis.  

They were taken to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Their conditions are listed as non-critical.

Police say preliminary information on the suspect included a light colored van that had left the scene.

The investigation is continuing and police say there are promising leads.
