2-car crash shuts down one lane of Route 51

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A two vehicle crash had shut down the southbound lane of Route 51, just south of Carbondale.

The crash happened around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, 1/2 mile north of Rifle Range Road.

The northbound lane was still open to traffic.

State police say a Kia Sportage hit the rear bumper of a BMW.

No injuries were reported.

State Police say the southbound lane of Route 51 was expected to be shut down till at least 3 p.m. while police investigate the crash.
