3 injured in 4 vehicle crash in McCracken County

A four vehicle crash in McCracken County sent three people to area hospitals.

It happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of New Holt Road.

Deputies say the driver of a Ford pickup truck, for what appears to be medical reasons, struck three other vehicles who were also driving northbound on New Holt Road.

After passing through the intersection of New Holt Road and North Friendship Road, the driver of the Ford pickup became disoriented.

Deputies say he pushed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal as he approached another vehicle.

The pickup then hit the rear of a gold 2007 Kia causing the Kia to leave the roadway on the east side.

The pickup's driver continued northbound until he struck a Buick LeSabre causing the Buick to leave the roadway on the east side and over turn just in front of Energy Fitness.

The truck continued northbound striking a Chevrolet pickup. The Chevrolet then left the roadway on the west side and the Ford pickup came to rest in a ditch on the east side of the roadway.

Three people were all treated on scene and transported to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries by Mercy Regional EMS.

The roadway was closed for approximately an hour and a half for the investigation and the cleanup of the collision.

The McCracken County Sheriffs Department was assisted on scene by Mercy Regional EMS, Concord Fire Department and the McCracken County DES.

The driver of the Ford pickup, Erwin A. Sandoval, 26, of Paducah, was cited at the hospital for no operators license for driving his vehicle on a permit without a licensed driver.
