CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A woman says that she was beaten up by her neighbors because of her sexual orientation and those neighbors are all juveniles under age 16. However, the mother of the children disputes it.

According to Jeana Terry, and police reports, the juveniles allegedly drug Terry out of her home on South Park Street.

Eventually she says that she ended up in the street with as many as six kids surrounding her.

Terry says she had a concussion, lots of bruises and may need surgery on her eye because of a bad cut near her cornea.

She says the kids are siblings who live across the street. She says for several months she and her partner have listened to the kids yell homosexual slurs at them.

According to Terry, on Tuesday the oldest girl and her little brother ran up on her front porch, drug her out of her house and began punching and kicking her.

She says other kids joined in.

Terry says eventually her partner called 911, but dropped the phone and ran to her aid when she saw the 11-year-old boy strike Terry in the face.

"I felt the blow but I don't know if it was from a hand or foot," said Terry. "I felt the rip. I thought it was water but now I know it was blood. I mean we have tried telling their dad the harassment is getting too much. I was like enough is about enough."

The mother of the accused suspects tells a different story.

She says no one dragged Terry out of her home, and says Terry is the one who started it.

"My daughter was on the phone and talking to and friend and she assumed they were calling her gay," said Nancy Harris, the juveniles' mother. "(Terry) ran off the porch, tried to attack (my daughter) and she defended herself. I have two other kids that came to their sister's rescue trying to break up the fight. They took three juveniles into custody. We don't care what race, sexuality, color or what you are, we love everybody."

According to police, they questioned a 16 and 15-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.

At least one juvenile was taken into custody. Now the case is in the hands of juvenile authorities.
