4 injured after explosion at oil field


An explosion at an oil field lease in White County injured four people.

It happened on County Road 800E/500N Norris City in a rural area near Plainview Church.

The White County 911 dispatch took the call at 1:07 p.m.

The explosion could have been cause from welding on one of the tanks, according to the White County Sheriff's Office.

Shane Farris of Enfield and John Sullivan of Herald were taken by helicopter to a hospital.

Brandon Hooper of Fairfield and Jason Parr of Norris City were taken.

The lease is owned by Bankston Creek and Land Trust.

The Norris City Fire Department remains on scene. State investigators are also responding.
