CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

It's never too early for kids to start thinking about their future careers.

That's the message at the 2nd annual Health Care Careers Camp in Cape Girardeau.

A group of 7th and 8th grade boys had the opportunity to hear from people across the health care industry, including an air-evac team from Perryville.

Camp organizers say it's important to get kids thinking about their careers as they enter high school.

"It's a big advantage for them," said Kathleen Clayton with the Cape Career and Technology Center.  "This way when they get to high school, they'll know what classes they want to take.  They will have a leg up."

Several of the students say because of the camp, they're considering the health care field.
