Sikeston man charged with involuntary manslaughter after deadly crash

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A Sikeston man faces a manslaughter charge after the driver of another vehicle died from injuries in a wreck.

A full size pickup truck traveling East on Malone struck a small passenger car as it crossed the intersection on Ingram Road on July 17, according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

The collision overturned the car and it was left resting upside down in the old Stanfield gas station parking lot. The pickup truck overturned several times after striking the car and ejected the driver.

The truck continued, barreling through a nearby light pole and landing upright roadside.The light pole was knocked to the ground. 

The driver of the truck, Mark Lee Jobe, was found nearby his vehicle. The truck driver was flown by Air Evac to a nearby hospital and was in critical condition.

The driver of the car, Kim Maclin, had to be cut out of the car. She was flown by Air Evac to a nearby hospital.

Maclin, 53, of Sikeston died from her injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was released from the hospital on July 20 and arrested.

Mark Lee Jobe, 47, of Sikeston is charged through Scott County Court with 1st degree assault - involuntary manslaughter (class B felony) and failure to obey a traffic device.

Jobe's bond was set at $75,000 cash only. He was taken to the Scott County Jail.

Sikeston DPS asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that hasn't already been given to police is asked to contact Sikeston DPS at 573-471-4711.
