MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

Crews were called to an early morning fire Friday in Murphysboro, Illinois.

It happened around 4 a.m. to the north side of Kimmel Bridge Road.

Fire Chief Bill Bateman with the Pomona Somerset Volunteer Fire Department says when crews arrived, the structure was fully involved.

He says the home was a total loss and not being considered suspicious.

No word on what started the blaze.

One person lived in the home, but not home at the time of the fire.

Bateman says the fire was out in two hours, and crews were on scene for four hours.
