A school bus driver convicted of reckless homicide was sentenced to one year behind bars.

Anita Roach drove the bus that left the road and rolled over, killing a six-year old Logan Simpson back in May of 2011.

Twenty other children and adults were injured in the crash.

The defense says Roach followed her training and steered toward a deer running along the road, rather than swerve away from it.

Prosecutors say narcotics in Roach's system impaired her and she should not have been driving.

A jury found Roach not guilty of manslaughter and guilty of reckless homicide, according to the Carlisle County courthouse.
