Police arrest 2 after finding active meth lab in Scott City

SCOTT CITY, MO (KFVS) -

Scott City police arrested a man and a woman after finding an active meth lab in their home.

Calvin Rayford of Scott City was charged Thursday with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kimberly Counts of Scott City was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance within 200 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Scott City police and the SEMO Drug Task Force officers found an active clandestine methamphetamine lab along with finished meth.

Police say Rayford was out on bond through Scott County for traffic offenses and Counts was out on bond for possession of a controlled substance and possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana.

They were both being held behind bars with bond set at $100,000 each.
