LUXORA, AR (KFVS) - Police are looking for two inmates who walked away from a work release detail in Arkansas and may now be in southeast Missouri.
Shea Wilson, a spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Corrections, said John Laxton, 42, and Danny Rankin, 46, were working on a job site in Blytheville, Arkansas. When an officer went to pick them up Wednesday night, they were not there around 8 p.m., according to Wilson.
Investigators in Mississippi County, Arkansas believe the two were picked up by a woman driving a green Kia. The two are believed to have been sighted in Holcomb, Missouri Thursday morning. Investigators believe the two are traveling together. Wilson said the men have family ties to the Holcomb area.
Laxton was in custody for theft of property. Rankin was in custody for manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance.
Laxton is described as a white male, 5'4", 164 lbs., with brown eyes. Rankin is described as a white male, 5'7", 160 lbs., with hazel eyes and brown hair.
