Hayti man killed when tractor overturns

COOTER, MO (KFVS) -

A Hayti man was killed when his tractor overturned on top of him in rural Cooter.

Charles Patrick Branham, 22, of Hayti was driving a tractor along County Hwy. 567 just south of State Hwy. O in rural Cooter.

Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell says it appeared a rear tire may have slipped down an embankment causing the tractor to overturn and trap Branham between the tractor and the ditch.

When emergency crews arrived, they found Branham lying in a muddy area of a side ditch.

Branham was later pronounced dead at the scene by Pemiscot County Coroner Jim Brimhall.
