(KFVS) - Canine handlers in Illinois will soon be licensed by the state. Applications are now being accepted by The Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
An applicant must be 18 or older, posses a valid private detective license, private security contractor license and work for a licensed private detective agency.
The approval process has begun for canine handler training courses and canine instructor training course. One the program is authorized, graduates of the programs can apply for a handler authorization card.
