DEXTER, MO (KFVS) - The names of three men killed in a crash near Dexter have been released.
A deputy coroner with the Stoddard County Coroner's Office says Mural Davis, 42, of Scott City, and Duane Caston, 47, of Sikeston, were pronounced dead on scene.
Davis' son, Ernest Davis, 21, of Scott City was air-lifted to a Cape Girardeau hospital and later pronounced dead.
Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner says the driver lost control of the car as a deputy tried to pull the car over for a traffic violation.
It happened on Highway 25 and Highway 60 between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Monday.
Stoddard County Coroner Aaron Mathis says the driver lost control of the car on Hwy. 25, went airborne, and landed near the westbound side of Hwy. 60.
Trooper Clark Parrott with the Missouri Highway Patrol says the deputy had stopped his pursuit of the car before it crashed.
Parrott says the driver attempted to take the westbound exit from Hwy. 25 to Hwy. 60, but lost control on the exit ramp and landed on Hwy. 60.
All three men in the vehicle were ejected.
A reconstruction team with the Missouri Highway Patrol was at the scene Monday morning.
The Missouri Highway Patrol is also conducting toxicology tests.
Parrott says that deadly crashes in Missouri are up 14 percent so far in 2012 compared to this time last year.
He also says that two-thirds of these deaths have been people not wearing a seat belt.
