Train derails in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

Union Pacific crews are on the scene of an overnight train derailment.

According to Union Pacific Spokesman Mark Davis, 26 empty railcars ran off the tracks around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The cars derailed inside the city limits of Poplar Bluff just north of the downtown area.

Union Pacific crews will be working throughout the day to upright the toppled railcars and repair any damage to the tracks.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.

No one was injured.
