EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, IL (KFVS) - Police in Alexander County have one man in custody in connection with an overnight stabbing at a gentleman's club.
It happened around 2:45 a.m. Saturday at the Pink Pony Club in East Cape Girardeau.
Alexander County Sheriff Tim Brown tells Heartland News it all started when two men were fighting, and one of the club's bouncers tried to break it up. The sheriff says in the scuffle, the bouncer was stabbed in the side of his back near a lung.
The bouncer was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital where he's now in stable condition.
The sheriff says one of the men allegedly involved in the fight was also cut on the arm. Brown says the wound was not severe and the man declined medical attention.
Police took Michael Cox of Springfield, Mo. into custody. Charges are pending.
