Man dies in apparent meth lab explosion, woman arrested

POTOSI, MO (KFVS) -

A man is dead after a suspected meth lab exploded in the basement of a home.

Emergency units arrived at 303 Mineral Street in Potosi at 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 11.

They found Dwayn Ducharme, 30, unresponsive in the basement.  Ducharme was deceased on scene.

Amy Huff, 43, of Potosi has been arrested and charged with arson 1st degree, trafficking 1st degree, five counts of possession of a chemical with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Huff is incarcerated in the Washington County Jail on a bond of $250,000 cash only.

Huff had drug charges pending from an arrest in September.

The Mineral Area Drug Task Force, Missouri Fire Marshal's Office and the Potosi Police Department are investigating.
