Former Cairo firefighter sentenced for arson

A former Cairo auxiliary firefighter was sentenced to two-and-a-half years of probation.

David Patrick was sentenced to 30 month probation on Wednesday morning at the Alexander County Courthouse.

Patrick and another former firefighter, Richard Pitcher previously pleaded guilty to two counts of arson.

Both men were accused of starting a fire at a storage facility by the Mississippi Levee in January 2011 and a home in Cairo in April 2011.

Pitcher is set for sentencing on July 25 at 9 a.m.
