8-year-old girl injured in rollover crash

MARION, IL (KFVS) -

An eight-year-old girl has major injuries after rollover crash on Interstate 57 just south of Marion.

It happened at 11:38 a.m. at mile marker 49.4, according to Illinois State Police.

The driver told ISP she was driving a mini van southbound in the left lane when a semi truck started coming into her lane. She says she swerved to avoid it and over corrected, left the right side of the road, came back across both lanes to the left lane and rolled the vehicle.

Charlene Walker, 54, of Decatur was the driver. She was ticketed for no child restraint. She has minor injuries.

Khadesha Dear, 8, of Decatur has major injuries and was flown to Children's Hospital in St. Louis. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Tonya Harding, 37, of Decatur was not hurt. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Joyce Dear, 35, of Decatur was not hurt. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Montez Dear, 9, of Decatur has minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.

Jakeen Dear, 4, of Decatur was not hurt. He was wearing a seatbelt.
