Traffic stop leads to heroin arrest in western Ky.

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A traffic stop led deputies to a heroin arrest in Marshall County, Kentucky.

Deputies say they made traffic stop Thursday on US 68 East for an expired registration plate.

According to the sheriff's office, the driver told deputies he did not have insurance on the vehicle and dispatch confirmed he wasn't insured.

Deputies say after searching the vehicle, deputies found a brown bag that had a Wal-Mart sack inside it. Inside the sack was a metal spoon that had residue on it, a piece of rope, a piece of cotton and syringes.

According to the sheriff's office, the spoon field tested positive for Heroin.

Edwards was taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
