Perryville man killed while trying to hook up trailer

PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

A Perryville man died Thursday after he was hit by a pickup while trying to hook up a trailer.

Eldon B. Bohnert, 39, of Perryville died after a Silver 2003 Ford F-350 backed into him, according to Perryville Police Chief Keith B. Tarrillion.

It happened Thursday around 7:07 a.m. at 212 N. Moulton Street.

The man driving the pickup truck told police that Bohnert was putting the tail gate of the truck down in order to hook up a goose neck trailer. The man began to back from the driveway and did not see Bohnert still behind the truck when he hit him.

Bohnert was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital where he died.
