Boat rescued on Mississippi River near Caruthersville

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KFVS) - Pemiscot County authorities rescued a boat on the Mississippi River on July 4.

The Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office received a call at 7:59 p.m. Wednesday of a boat that had mechanical problems and was taking on water.

The sheriff's office with the help of the Caruthersville Police Department deployed its boat and found the distressed boat a short distance from the Mississippi River bridge.

The boat was towed back to the Caruthersville landing without any problems.

No one was injured.
