Six Miners make the Frontier League All-star team

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Frontier League All-star results came out Wednesday afternoon and six players from the Southern Illinois Miners baseball team earned a spot in the 2012 All-star game.

SP Dave Harden, SS Jake Kaase, 2B Will Block, LF Darian Sandford and RF Chad Maddox will all be heading to Normal Illinois for the All-star game.

Former relief pitcher Max Peterson was also a 2012 All-star selection but will not be on the team because his contract was purchased by the Chicago White Sox.

This will be Harden and Block's second time heading to an All-star game and the first appearance for Kaase, Sandford and Maddox.

The All-star game will take place July 11 at The Corn Crib in Normal Illinois at 7:05 p.m.
