SIMPSON, IL (KFVS) - A two-car crash in Johnson County, Illinois on Route 147 resulted in multiple injuries on June 29 around 9:40 p.m.
Illinois State Police say Roy M. Scarborough, 63, of Simpson was driving in the northbound lane when his 2006 Ford pick-up truck crossed into the southbound lanes. David R. Ramirez, 20, of Metropolis tried to avoid the collision but his 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse was struck by Scarborough.
Jasmine R. Reyna, 20, Jereme C. Parker, 25, and Olivia F. Ramirez, 20, were passengers in the Eclipse.
Scarborough showed no signs of injuries. He was cited with improper lane usage, driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated DUI with bodily harm.
David Ramirez was taken to Herrin Hospital serious injuries. Parker and Olivia Ramirez were taken to Heartland Medical Center in Marion with serious injuries. Reyna was taken to an Evansville, Indiana hospital with serious injuries.
Everyone was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Police are still investigating the crash.
