MOREHOUSE, MO (KFVS) -

Five people will spend their Independence Day behind bars following a drug bust in New Madrid County.

Early Saturday morning New Madrid County deputies and drug agents conducted a search warrant at a home in Morehouse.

Police confiscated $16,000 in cash, marijuana and a meth lab from the residence.

Five Morehouse residents were arrested on drug charges.

Twenty-three-year-old Tara Kempfer, 22-year-old Mandy Hicks, 36-year-old Adam Gadberry, 25-year-old Aaron Laminack and 22-year-old Jesse Laminack are charged with attempt to manufacture, intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled substance.

All five are now being held in the New Madrid County Jail without bond.

Their bonds will be set when they stand before a judge on Monday.
