BROOKPORT, IL (KFVS) -

Emergency crews have found the body of a male in Brookport, Ill.

The body of a male was found by a Lock and Dam employee who was checking on something in the water, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

The sheriff's department and the coroner were called to the scene.

According to investigators, Friday morning at 9:33 a.m., workers at Dam 52 on the Ohio River contacted the McCracken County E-911 Center concerning a body that was floating in the area of the Dam.

Sheriff's deputies, the McCracken County Coroner's Office, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, and McCracken County DES responded by boat to the scene.

The body was recovered and taken to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. A positive identification has been made of the victim.

He was identified as being 34 year old Brian "Jamie" Patrick Blake of Oak Road in McCracken County.

Blake had been reported missing to the sheriff's department by his mother on Wednesday June 27. She stated that he had not been seen since Monday June 25.

Efforts to locate Blake after the missing person report was made were unsuccessful. Deputies with the cooperation of a cell phone company pinged his telephone 90 to 100 times over the course of this week with negative results.

Blake's cause of death has not yet been determined. His body has been transported to Louisville where an autopsy will be conducted.

The case remains under investigation by the McCracken County Coroner's Office, as well as the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.
