CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Fireworks stands across the Heartland are experiencing a dip in sales compared to past years.
Chris Wheeler, owner of Patriotic Fireworks, has a stand in Cape Girardeau. He says business is slow.
Wheeler says it could be the extreme heat, dry conditions or a combination of both causing the dip in business.
He says he has noticed a few more people coming to his fireworks stand after dark as temperatures cool a bit, but that business overall is down.
Many communities in the Heartland have issued burn bans and fireworks bans because of the extremely dry weather.
