Crews battling 300 acre fire in Iron County, Mo.

IRON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Multiple fire crews are battling the heat and a 300 acre fire in Iron County, Missouri.

According to Iron County 911 Dispatch, Highway 32 at Iron County Road 73 is back open. Both lanes were closed due to a major brush fire. Heavy smoke shut down both lanes for a time.

The fire is mostly on land of the US Forest Service between Co. Roads 72-73.

Drivers are asked to use caution due to the heavy smoke.

According to dispatch, there have been no injuries or evacuations.

Right now the US Forest Service and Quad City Fire Department are trying to at least contain the fire overnight.

No word on when the other lane will open to traffic.
