Driver crashes after hitting deer at high speeds in Saline County

SALINE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Authorities say a man hit a deer with his car at high speeds before crashing in Saline County.

Joseph A. Walker, 17, of Evansville, Indiana was cited for not having a valid driver's license.

Saline County Central Dispatch got the 911 call about the crash on Tuller Road shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say no one was around the vehicle when the call was reported to the sheriff's office.

Deputies responded and later found Joseph A. Walker, 17, of Evansville, Indiana was headed south on Tuller Road, about a mile and half south of US 45 at high speeds.

Walker hit the deer and lost control hitting several trees before landing in the road.

The vehicle was totaled.
