PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The names of a pregnant mother and her young son who were killed in a fire in Paducah early Monday morning have been released.
A deputy coroner with the McCracken County Coroner's Office says Jessica Woods, 24, and Day'von Robinson, 5, were killed in the fire.
Family members say the fire started around 5:20 a.m. Monday on Cruse Avenue.
Family says the pregnant mother and her young son were asleep in a back bedroom when the fire started.
A smoke alarm went off and family members say the other three people in the house made it out.
Firefighters say the fire might have started where an extension cord ran under a rug.
The house is extensively damaged, but not a total loss.
There are no autopsies scheduled.
The fire marshal was on the scene.
A memorial fund set up at Regions bank in Paducah under "Day'von Robinson Memorial Fund."
