Fire in Salem shuts down highway

SALEM, KY (KFVS) - Fire crews in Livingston County were battling a structure fire that shut down a highway for a time.

According to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd, U.S. 60 in Livingston County needed to be been closed due to a fire.

Livingston County Sheriff's dispatchers say fire crews were battling a structure fire in downtown Salem. No other information is available about the blaze at this time.

The highway was closed between the 27.4 and 27.7 mile markers.

The highway re-opened around 9 a.m. Sunday.
