EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) - The 11th Annual Tour de Corn bicycle race kicked off Saturday morning in East Prairie, Missouri.
Officials say there were 1157 riders in this year's event, including a 91 year old grandmother.
The Tour de Corn race is held in conjunction with East Prairie's Sweetcorn Festival.
According to the event website, the Tour de Corn began when a local cyclist had the idea of starting a charity ride in East Prairie.
There were less than 200 riders the first year the race was held in 2001 and it has now grown to over 1100 riders participating.
