More honors for Former SIU First baseman Chris Serritella

SIU 1st baseman Chris Serritella once again receives national recognition for his stellar college baseball season.

Serritella named to the Baseball America's All-America First Team.  Serritella was excited about the honor saying, "This is probably the best award and greatest honor I've received this year. Being named the best first baseman in the country is unbelievable."

Serritella earned the Missouri Valley Conference Batting Title with a .389 average and also lead the conference with 13 home runs. 

He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fourth round of the MLB Draft.  He is currently playing for the Williamsport Crosscutters, the Phillies New York-Penn League Affiliate.
