SCOTT CITY, MO (KFVS) - A train hit a motorcycle Friday morning in Scott City.
It happened at Bell Crossing at 11th Street at 5:45 a.m. This is also known as State Road N. A portion of the road at the crossing was closed.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Dewey L. Veal, 55, of Scott City was driving southbound on County Road 305 on a closed section of the road when his motorcycle became stuck on the railroad tracks.
A Union Pacific locomotive hit the motorcycle. Veal was able to get off of the motorcycle before the train hit it.
The crossing has cross arms and a signal light.
Scott City Police say no one was injured. The motorcycle was totaled.
