Harry Whitt leaving SIU basketball team

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

The SIU basketball team is losing a big man.

Salukis head coach Barry Hinson says 6-foot-10 inch Sophomore Center Harry Whitt will withdrawal from school.

Whitt played in 23 games as a true freshman last season averaging seven minutes a contest.

Whitt's top games were highlighted by 8-point performances against Missouri State and Bradley.

Hinson says Whitt has decided he has other priorities more important than basketball right now.
