CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Monday night the Cape Girardeau city council held its first reading on a revised ordinance on the urban deer hunting issue.
The council approved that new ordinance by a 4 to 3 vote.
It will allow a bow and arrow deer hunt inside Cape city limits.
There had been talk of hunters being able to trap and euthanize deer, but that is no longer on the table.
Hunters will be required to complete a hunter safety course, hold an archery permit, and complete an application for a deer hunting permit.
