KNOBEL, AR (KFVS/KAIT) - A body was found near the railroad tracks four or five miles north of Knobel in Clay County on Saturday.

According to Clay County Sheriff, Gerald McClung, deputies were on the scene Saturday and the Clay County coroner as well.

McClung says that the body was spotted by crew members along the Union Pacific train as it was headed northbound between Knobel and Corning.

And, authorities are wondering if the body could possibly be that of a 80-year-old man who disappeared in mid-May.

Nothing is official yet, but authorities question whether it could be Andrew Haukereid who disappeared on his way to Chicago from Texas on an Amtrak train to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Authorities are in contact with the man's family who's working to get dental records sent in for a positive identification.

The man's body will be sent to the state medical examiner's office on Monday.
