Fire damages storage shed in Oak Ridge, tank explosions heard

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Fire crews responded to an early morning blaze in Cape Girardeau County on Friday.

According to the North Cape County Fire Department, the fire was at Paul's Auto Parts in Oak Ridge on County Road 471.

It happened around 6 a.m. Friday.

According to the fire department, a storage shed caught fire. All of the damage was contained to that single building.

No word on what started the fire.

Neighbors say they heard at least five explosions inside the shed. There was a golf cart and bobcat inside the shed along with some cutting torches and tanks.

Neighbors say the tanks likely exploded.
