JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - An Ameren Illinois representative says power has been restored to more than 5,300 customers as of 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Customers in Jackson County were without power around 4 p.m. and lasted for about an hour and a half.
Ameren says the problem is with three transmission lines north of Makanda at the SIU substation. Victoria Bush, with Ameren, says this is impacting the Makanda area and southern Carbondale.
Ameren is investigating what happened. They say they do not anticipate any further problems.
