MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - It's said that domestic violence calls are potentially the most explosive situations a police officer can encounter, and a Murphysboro officer got a taste of that Saturday night.
According to Murphysboro Police around 8:15 p.m. officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Lucier Street where a caller said a man was beating up his pregnant girlfriend.
When officers arrived, they arrested 22-year-old Richard Bone. But officers say Bone didn't go quietly. He allegedly struggled as officers were taking him into custody and injured a Murphysboro Police officer in the process.
The officer's injury did not require medical attention. The pregnant woman also opted not to go to the hospital.
Bone was taken to the Jackson County Jail on domestic battery and aggravated battery charges.
