CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

An overnight crash in Cape Girardeau County put two people in the hospital with injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened at 12:45 a.m. Sunday on County Road 621, one mile north of the Cape Girardeau city limits.

Troopers say 26-year-old Eric Johnson of Cape Girardeau was northbound when his Honda Accord went off the right side of the road and hit a concrete culvert.

Troopers say Johnson and his passenger, 26-year-old Ashley Williams were wearing seat belts, but both were hurt in the crash.

Johnson had moderate injuries, and Williams is seriously injured.

The pair was taken to a Cape Girardeau Hospital for treatment. No word on their conditions.
