2 former SEMO players sign with Atlanta Braves

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Former Southeast Missouri pitcher Shae Simmons and third baseman Trenton Moses signed with the Atlanta Braves Thursday night, a day after they were drafted, according to the university.

Simmons was selected in the 22nd round and Moses was chosen in the 26th round during the final day of this year's draft on June 6.

The two are headed to Danville, Virginia for their first assignment. The Danville Braves are an Advanced Rookie-level team in the Appalachian League.

Simmons and Moses are first headed to Orlando, Fla., for a mini-camp before joining their new club in Danville at the end of next week.

The Danville Braves open their season with a three-game home series against the Elizabethton Twins, June 19-21.
