Boil water order issued for parts of Pittsburg, Ill.

PITTSBURG, IL (KFVS) - A precautionary boil water order has been issued for customers who live on White Pine Lane in Pittsburg, Illinois. This is due to a water main break.

According to the water department, the order will be lifted after bacteriological samples say the water is safe.

The water in the system may have bacteriological contamination, which water officials say could cause waterborne disease or gastrointestinal distress.

If you live in this area, you are asked to bring all water for drinking or culinary purposes to a rolling boil for five minutes.
