COLP, IL (KFVS) - It was an early start for fire fighters in Williamson County, Illinois.
According to Williamson County Fire Protection District Chief Jeremy Norris, crews were called to a home in the 300 block of Kennedy Street in Colp at around 2 a.m. Thursday.
Crews say when they arrived on the scene, the house was fully involved.
Investigators say the house was abandoned and there was no electricity running.
There had been reports that someone had been squatting in the abandoned home, but the chief says he has not been able to confirm that.
Firefighters spent about two and a half hours containing the blaze.
