Robbery suspect arrested after standoff

STEELE, MO (KFVS) - Officers in Steele arrested a robbery suspect after a three hour standoff.

Ricky Laneir Hollywood, 33, faces charges of robbery 2nd degree, assault, burglary and resisting arrest, according to the Steele Police Department.

Police received a call of a robbery early Tuesday morning at the corner of Highway 164 and West Main Street in Steele.

Two women from Kennett and a woman from Osceola, Ark. told police they were assaulted and robbed.

The women told police a man in the car with them took cash, a cell phone, keys to the vehicle and took off running.  Police later learned the robbery was the result of a drug deal that turned sour.

Steele officers and Pemiscot County Sheriff's deputies found the man hiding in an unoccupied house he had broken into on Polk Street.

Officers demanded the man to surrender, but he refused.

Officers with the Kennett Police Department's Strategic Response Team forced their way into the home and arrested the man.
