METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) - Honeywell plans to call several laid off employees back to work late next week.
According to a company spokesman, plans are to recall approximately 100 employees, including approximately 85 union employees.
The company says damaged equipment brought production at the Honeywell plant in Metropolis to a standstill on May 10.
A company spokesperson says there was not a material leak and the problem turned up during a routine inspection.
Honeywell sent 350 employees home and said production would not resume until certain things were safe.
Of that amount, 168 are hourly, union employees. The remaining 170 are salaried employees.
