CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KFVS) - A Tennessee man was killed in a crash on Levee Road near Caruthersville Friday morning.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was stuck halfway down the levee on Levee Road near Highway 84 north of Walmart in Caruthersville.
James C. Moody, 26, of Ripley, Tenn. died after he drove off the north side of the levee, attempted to correct and overturned. Moody was ejected through the driver's side window and became trapped under the pickup truck. He was flown to a hospital.
The truck was not in the water.
The passenger, Lance K. Pendergrass, 20, of Caruthersville went to a Pemiscot County hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers say neither person was wearing a seatbelt.
